According to United Nation statistics over 5,000 Yazidis were murdered by the militant group Isis in the areas of Sinjar, Iraq and Syria. Their homes destroyed by the militants. Between 4,200 — 10,800 Yazidi’s were kidnapped by Isis and enslaved, many which were young Girls from ages roughly around 8 to 9 years of age through adult Women who were sex trafficked by Isis terrorists. Elderly Women were murdered onsite because they were deemed “Unfit” to sell for sex. The genocide against the Yazidi’s began on August 3 2014 oddly enough merely days after the world annually recognizes World Trafficking Day on July 30. Until the issue was brought to the UN Council nothing had been done albeit the security council had called upon by the Iraqi government months prior with evidence of genocidal acts occurring against the Yazidi’s thus it was not until Nobel Peace Prize Recipient (at the time nominee), author of “The Last Girl”, and Isis Survivor Nadia Murad along with her attorney, Amal Clooney, were brought before the United Nations to testify against these atrocious crimes until that time no investigations, no aid, no trials against the perpetrators had occurred whatsoever.

In Syria there are between 12,000 and 15,000 Yazidi Women and children refugees who fled genocide, rape, sex trafficking and their now wartorn homes. The refugee numbers in Iraq are the highest at 500,000, for Turkey it is 5,000, and Germany comes in second at 200,000.

To this day the only allies the Yazidi’s have are the UNDP Eurasia and the United Nations . Canada has also proven to be an Allie to them and probably among the most welcoming according to reports. In areas such as Germany the case has not been as much as the people still suffer greatly based on documented accounts.
