#4BMovement — Why It’s Counterproductive
The trending movement is presently 4B. The 4B movement is believed to stem from Korea by Korean Women that are obstaining from sex with men until they receive their equal rights. In the 4B movement that has been adopted online Women and Girls are shaving their heads, labeling the beauty industry as patriarchy, etc. That is a misinformed opinion. The beauty industry is operated largely by women and the majority of Girls and Women purchase from the beauty industry for themselves not Men. Besides these “Men” they are obstaining from sex with they don’t give a crap if you have sex with them or not. Shaving of the head or cutting the hair rather in the cultures I stem from it is a sense of admitting defeat, it’s mourning. I’ve spoken of this previously our hair is our strength, there is a phrase in the Indigenous diaspora “The longer the hair the stronger the spirit.” Therefore shaving your head to concoct a counterproductive point is in fact revealing to your opponents you are defeated, feeble, and conquered. If any are that defeated by an election instead of resolved with a will to carry yourself proudly, with honor, and dignity then perhaps you would be well served to reevaluate what you are under the impression a Woman’s behavior consists of.
The reason the 4B movement is successful in the Korean construct it is because they have been entirely oppressed with minimal to no forward as well as bearing children particularly sons it is part of the worth of Women and the toxic part of the Korean or dare speak of much of Asian society. There have been innumerable text, documentaries, films, societal beliefs, and publications on this.
In many Asian societies Girls are not valued simply because of the chromosome they are born with. It’s institutional systemic prejudice towards those of the female persuasion as where America has had a subtle version of that. Some of the Asian cultures it’s embedded in society and in the cultures.
In America our construct widely differs. It is no argument we have disparity in the United States however compared to the disparity in numerous countries we have an exit through democracy, freedom of speech, and our voice we can wield for change as where they don’t. In innumerable countries you can legally be killed or imprisoned for voicing anything let alone if you are a Woman.
The acting foolish and mentally unstable on open social media over this election, aforesaid let’s represent ourselves like dignified intellectual Women not like children throwing temper tantrums. The suffragette pioneers, Women’s Rights Movement, Civil Rights of Black nor Brown, etc were not put through hell so you could act like a fool. If we really are seeking change we would be well served to act like it.
