Ali

The late ,Muhammad Ali, someone I always respected and admired as I’ve said several times over the years. Albeit I am not of Muslim faith he had a right to stand up for himself, express himself the way he wanted to, and his beliefs.

He really was an inspiring figure. A fighter to the very end for sure. Ali’s heart resonates with me because he was a mouth with pride and well I’m a mouth with pride when need be. Other than being probably the greatest boxing champ of the world he was indeed proud and should have been because the life of a person of color especially in that time you had to be and still have to be proud as we have seen why repeatedly. I actually spoke with his daughter a few years ago briefly, I remember watching her box as a kid. Nice Lady. I think she retired from the ring fairly young because well boxers take a lot of blows to the body and head. If they last in the ring much past age 30 it’s a near miracle. MMA, Cage Fighters, etc even sooner because they don’t wear a whole lot of protective gear on them. They really take a beating, watching those fights it’s like “Good on you. Hope you come out of it in one piece.” 👍🏽😄 I respect anyone of that profession for obvious reasons. I just learned boxing and such recreationally for self defense etc aforementioned as a kid but nothing championship wise because well for one I didn’t want to have the affects too many professional fighters have and 2 I wanted to do other things in life. So any fighters (boxers, cage fighters, etc) reading hats off and kudos to you because it is not entirely a smooth profession. 👍🏽 Fascinating figure and person he was.

Of course several of these are the Sony Pictures Filmes depiction of him by Will Smith in 2001.

I had used this example before about life’s challenges just when you and or the world in cases like his thinks the enemy has you up against the ropes and you’re down for the count there comes that metaphorical TKO when that bell rings. And you’ll be all the more full of thankfulness for the “Bomaye” cheers of those who stand by, beside, and behind what is right. ✊🏽 As history goes he regained the title that was unjustly taken from him all because he refused to be drafted by the United States Army.

“So what? So what? I don’t have to be what nobody wants me to be. And I ain’t afraid to be what I wanna be. Think how I want to think.” Muhammad Ali
