The fascinating box office hit biopic about Queen. I liked it because they didn’t bullseye on Freddy Mercury’s lifestyle it was mainly about the music or as one of the protagonists said while they were bickering in the studio
“If you all can just shut up and play.” Bohemian Rhapsody
I think that part of pseudo “music” is what is missing in the industry for one for far too many it comes way to easily they didn’t really earn it for most of them, it’s all about popularity and hype not art at all. Like just get on the stage, studio, turn off the auto tune, BS, and freaking shut up. I’m hoping after COVID19 the entertainment field will go back to sheer talent not gimmicks, hype, popularity, and personal lives in the spotlight used to make a buck. Fields like dance you can’t fake the funk albeit the only thing that has been featured the last several years is twerking which anyone can do. Who cares that’s got nothing to do with making real music or art.
The film does highlight at one point the ridiculousness of how the press is, how the media and public just badgers people about their personal life not their art when applicable. No wonder they often go bat mental and or self destruct at some point being badgered like that. It’s no wonder they gravitate towards self destruction and leaches that pretend to care about them but just use them being they tell them what they want to hear.
“These people don’t care about you.” Bohemian Rhapsody
