Following the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks and nearly a month after the Taliban essentially reclaimed Afghanistan as it’s territory from the hands of United States occupation — the formally mentioned docuseries ,Turning Point: 9/11 And The War On Terror, sheds light onto why the United States withdrew fully from Afghanistan. This is conveyed particularly in Episode 4 titled “The Good War” and furthermore in Episode 5 titled “Graveyard of Empires.”

The corruption involved in that war was astronomical such as the to be desired Afghan solider and police force trainees on numerous occasions, the knowledge and usage of ,Tea Boys, who were sex trafficked young Boys among the Afghan military as well as Police, the deceptive orders given to American military such as befriending civilians then ordered to blow up everything in the respective area, then of course the equally undisciplined reprobate American solider’s who cold blooded killed Afghan citizens including children mutilating their bodies and taking photos as mementos. It goes without mention the Guantanamo Bay’s Violations of not only American Constitutional Law but International Law, the infuriating 2012 desecration of dead Taliban fighters by United States Military personnel which came to light by way of a surfaced cellphone video, the destruction by drones upon civilian communities, known corruption of the Afghan leadership American forces essentially functioned along with at one point for many years, furthermore there was little to no improvement in Afghanistan infrastructural nor developmental wise. This fully sent what might have been Afghan allies into the sympathies and arms of groups such as the Taliban. The entire war was in fact a stated “clusterf__” by Military headships and esteemed Intelligence Council Figures alike from virtually the beginning. It really was the USA’s Saigon with thousands of lives lost meanwhile little to no movement forward despite it. Honestly, if the Afghan people want their freedom and liberty they are going to have to fight for it and revolution for it. To cease allowing terrorists to do exactly what they have always done to strike terror into the hearts of the people and thus commit Crimes Against Humanity. The Afghan people are going to have to fight in order to free themselves from the grasp of the Taliban as any oppressed peoples must do.

The only profound accomplishment that was made during United States occupation was the assassination of Osama Bin Laden. Other than that little to nothing changed in Afghanistan especially Human Rights involving Girls, Women, LGTBQ, or anyone else- the dogmatic ideology remained to such an extent Afghanistan was tiered as the worst place for anyone fitting into those groups to reside. Between the corruption, the unwillingness of trainees, and unsteadiness of the country it was a doomed war. For all of Trump’s shortcomings he was entirely correct about his observation on it tactically speaking. In the end whether we are speaking on the Survivors, Rescuers, Military Personnel, or Afghan citizens human life is human life. We must always remember and honor that.
