Did a notable piece on the subject.

As for those who do celebrate Thanksgiving, Happy Thanksgiving.

For people for such as myself who do recognize it as a holiday but does so fairly somberly and with reserve because of what it meant for our peoples not just in our history but up all the way in present day, what it brought on us.

And yet we are still here genocide didn’t wipe us out, colonization, the boarding schools, sickness, disease, discrimination, reservations, sex trafficking, rape, domestic violence, addictions within our communities, cultural genocide, police brutality, poverty, murder at astounding rates beginning really with the terrorism of colonization in 1492, and pipelines that destroy our homes yet my God we are still here still strong still fighting for our rights, dignity, and lands back perhaps someday. Many of our ancestors may have surrendered because they had no choice but our spirits never did. If there is anything for us to celebrate that would be it.
