Dirty Dancing: The Concert

On Amazon Prime there is streaming of 1980’s “Dirty Dancing: The Concert” that was a live performance of Dirty Dancing. It featured the dancers from the film etc. Too bad there aren’t special productions like that anymore… especially during COVID. I’d never seen it or aware of it. It’s kind of lit to see musicals making their way back into the mainstream because musicals are difficult work especially when they are live. It takes a great deal of memory, effort, and commitment. They are easily 12 to 14 hour days forget if there is touring involved. Mainstream shows and acting in entertainment ain’t got nothing on theater and musicals not work ethic not performance not anything and it’s a shame honestly. Theater and dance companies are where the raw talent is at now for the most part. It’s like Lady Gaga said on the show while on the panel for “So you think you can dance” years ago people put down theater but theater is mind-blowing especially if done well. You can’t fake anything about it, it’s all raw no vocal pitch correctors, of course you can’t fake dance steps either you have them or you don’t, none of that. I’m hoping mainstream arts and entertainment return to that because it is a descending breed and practically non-existent in the mainstream.
