Dracula: Live
This was a late 1980’s/early 1990’s Halloween event originally shown on ABC about the life of the real Dracula that in fact was loosely adapted from the ruthless Romanian ruler Vlad Tepes. Who albeit was a fascinating figure of the past but of course unsettling.
Given his childhood it’s no wonder he grew up to be such a cold-blooded dictator really. As one scene from the 1995 comedy, Dracula Dead and Loving It, embodied Tepes in a comical way..
Which the simple fact of the matter is many rulers were equally as pitiless in carrying out their reigns. The only difference was as stated in written accounts was he basically seemed to delight in existing as a blood thirsty butcher essentially. HOWEVER in Romania and to Romanian people regard him as a hero because he drove the Turks out of their homeland.. kind of like how ,George Washington, was upheld as such in America for centuries. I can’t personally say anything because I’m one of the millions of direct descendants of Genghis Khan therefore 🤷🏽♀️. The definition of Barbarianism can be in the eye of the beholder heavily depended upon time frames, eras, cultures, etc. I’m not saying it was right or wrong it’s about subjective context and perspective.
