Often those of LGTBQ status have a long line during their lifetime of abuse in some way. The statistics convey that from childhood to adulthood and or if applicable most certainly the prison system. As twisted as it is some people can and do say “Well they did the crime whatever happens in jail they earned it” I don’t feel that way nor does anyone with humanity in them about offenders. Sexual violence is God awful violating to the human spirit to say the least, including when it’s exceptionally violent. I don’t believe any type of so called “consequence” of that nature fits the crime. It doesn’t fit what the justice system is supposed to be whatsoever. That fact does not excuse the crime but certainly it has no place in the what justice system ought to be. When justice is served in the right way it offers people even more of a way to turn their lives around the right way however the wrong way only traumatizes and often creates re-offenders frequently. In Curry’s case this was and has not been so they now warn people why not to make choose the hustler lifestyle.
