Ethos of Lord of The Rings

I’ve written of Lord of The Rings prior. The works are rooted in Christianity, evil vs righteousness etc. Gandalf is an allegory of Jesus particularly post resurrection. Characters like Gollum on the other hand are representative of those that have been steeped in depravity have utterly wreaked havoc on their own existences but yet have not perceived folly in their wickedness. Particularly in the second installment of the saga the being that was once Smeagol has milliseconds of what he was born as but like real life depraved they eventually are turned over to a reprobate mind. There was a part when Gandalf corrects Frodo in his initial downgrade of Gollum “Do not be eager to deal death and judgement.” In the second installment it speaks on the corruption of lack of humanity and how lack of humanity has enacted more harm than good.

The ring wraiths I’ve written of prior their background was similar to Gollum. They were once kings of men until the rings of power were handed to them therefore they became darkness. The character of Grima was a minion servant of Sauraman (the allegory of a servant of satan.) He was a manipulator and controller of King Theoden like real life sorts of that mentality. Sauraman was being deceived by Sauran as well like Gandalf stated in the works “There is a Lord of the rings and he does not share power” a metaphor for satan, evil, and treachery. Those that subscribe to evil, darkness, and treachery are deceived. They will not win in life and will fail. They’re the fall person. On the other hand characters like Frodo, Sam, Aragorn, Legalas, Grimely, Arwen so on and so forth was the analogy of those of righteousness IE Born again children of God. As Arwen spoke of “I do not fear them.” The “them” is referring to evil, evil doers, forces of darkness, so on and so forth. In reality people of God don’t fear any of that. We don’t. Let us not forgo the Woman figure Eowyn that she was the champion that slayed chief Nazgul .
