For Too Long
“Walk a mile in someone else’s shoes. It’s time to listen. The cry from young people today is ‘Listen to us!’ The same thing Jesus was saying in the gospels. Stop ridiculing the marginalized and listen. Slavery was legal but it wasn’t just.” Dr. Rick Rigsby excerpt
“What I would say to white folks for too long you’ve been doing all the talking. For too long you’ve been adding to the issues. For too long we have been accomplices to unaddressed racism in this country.”
“Jesus was radical he was offensive.” Dr. Rick Rigsby
I am so glad he said this. Those quotes go for every predatory individual and injustice as well especially involving marginalized and minority individuals gender or anything else regardless. The whole interview was so true because people frequently want to think and believe Jesus was some pushover that he winked at evil and sin towards others — he wasn’t and didn’t at all. He was offensive, he was progressive, he was before his time and controversial why do you think he was crucified? It wasn’t because he was popular and liked especially by the superiority complexed narcissistic Pharisees and Sadducees who had a metaphorical plank the size of Mount Vesuvius protruding out of their own eyes of self righteous judgement thus really thought they were more holy than God himself. It’s because Jesus was right. The end.
Highly recommend listening to this Gentleman.
