Solomon Burke also featured on the soundtrack really is in the same bracket as the Godfather of Soul, Queen of Soul, all those people. Of course the Ronette’s are legendary. Like Bruno Mars with his Doo Wop vibe, Amy Winehouse nailed their aesthetic to a T. Such a shame she passed way too soon. She really was a last hope in mainstream music as far as art goes. There aren’t too many if any acts like that anymore in the mainstream and it’s unfortunate, they’re really not timeless and never will be. They are of their time the majority of them. They don’t have art that can be carried over into decades or generations. They just don’t because for one they’re not musicians the majority of them they know little to nothing about musicianship or actual music, it’s apparent they don’t. They’re manufactured mostly. You can flip on an actual record of older acts and kids who weren’t even alive when they started know their lyrics. In fact studies show the majority of young people Millennial or Gen Z’ers listen to older music that was out before our times because of the substance. Studies have also shown music has gotten worse and go in depth a to why.
