It’s been 6 years this month among a few hundred at most and I went to Paisley Park for the second and final time before his passing in April 2016. It was for his limited Piano and Microphone Gala. Tickets ranged from $250 a piece to about $500 I believe depended upon seating. Media outlets were everywhere and as always the warmth/hospitality of the staff was excellent. As always it was nothing short of phenomenal. It seems like umpteen years ago. His passing is still a tremendous loss for the music and arts world. I saw him play live about 4 times total in my life before he transitioned. He had an unmatched show. I’ve rarely if ever seen anyone put on a show like that other than Lenny Kravitz and of course Tina Turner. They came from the school of you had to be able to perform no BS and it could be felt.

Some of my most liked albums were of course ,The Gold Experience, the Symbol Album, Emancipation, Musicology, I used to bump Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic as a kid quite a bit, and albeit it was a video concept album with a story line called ,3 Chains O Gold, from 1994 that is difficult to come by as I don’t think it was ever transferred to DVD widely…which by the way is where copiers got that concept from. Artists weren’t doing concept storyline videos around their music before then. Everything all these acts do are taken from the actual legends before.
I received mine via a music collector moving and practically giving their copy away from ebay, same with a limited edition promo poster from the Gold Experience Album which I still have to this day. The gentleman that gave it to me as a kid had been a promoter on that tour, he had a decent sized stack of them left well into the 2000’s and as a result I acquired one. A performance that I would like to see released one day is ,The Ryde Dyvine, it was a live concert in 1992-ish. The concert was broadcast on ABC. Of course everything is streaming now therefore. 🤷🏽♀️
