This is why it is imperative to never forget the horrors of the Holocaust and all of the Genocides since as well as prior to. There is no place for hate and bigotry. All survivors we revere your horrific experiences you survived. All those who lost their lives we commemorate you.

It is nearly impossible to accurately estimate the number of lives taken in the Holocaust or as Roma refer to it Porjamos (meaning “The Devouring” aptly so.) Some experts have reason to believe nearly 1 Billion people were murdered collectively. Among those victimized were Roma, Uprisers (also often called “Communists” by Hitler's rule), as most are aware Jewish, the Elderly, LGTBQ, Disabled, Mentally Ill (typically taken from facilities), Christian Sympathizers, Jehovah Witnesses. These were among the groups targeted and subsequently exterminated on mass by the Nazi regime. Christians were only tolerated if they didn’t assist or sympathize with the victimized. Basically anyone who wasn’t Aryan and or didn’t agree with the regime’s tyrannical repression of the subjugated peoples was subject to Murder on sight, Concentration Camps or Death Camps. We must ensure genocide doesn’t continue to occur as it has many times since the Holocaust.
