I’ve studied all about it and other religions beginning in my youth. As someone who is mixed with African and Afro Caribbean through both the slave trade as well as through Melungeon and Lumbee bloodlines among a slew of other peoples not to mention my faith as a Christian Jew I wouldn’t touch it with a 10 foot pole I don’t mess with anything like that but it’s greatly to be knowledgeable about various beliefs as well as ways of life. What often isn’t differentiated is Voodoo is a religion Hoodoo on the other hand is straight up witchcraft and tends to have more direct malevolent undertones but again it really just depends. It varies from community to community. Some mix the two between that and Catholicism typically.
