Indigenous American Month

When it comes to the week of Thanksgiving American Indigenous people can have an either or mixed beliefs on it. Truth is the Pilgrims would have starved and been thoroughly terminated without the assistance of the Indigenous peoples of the area by the name of Wampanoag and of course the historical figure Squanto. The only thanks the people received following was the kids and grand-kids of the Mayflower Pilgrims doing exactly what colonizers everywhere tended to do… give the people the shaft. It’s like that comedian Sinbad once said in a stand-up act “If Indians knew then what they know now they would have never let those Pilgrims get off that boat.” lol Some of us observe it some of us don’t because of obvious historical and residual affects of colonialism.

The late Charlie Hill was a pioneering comedian whom I have spoken of before.
