Iran Protests: The Song of a Revolution
The song ,Another Love, quickly grew into a protest and shout for freedom in Iran. Reposted a week or so previously youths distinctly Girls have been posting social media videos playing this version of the song to call for freedom of Iranian Girls, Women, and citizens while forming the universal hand signal for assistance. Bless them in their fight for their liberation. The protest is 2 fold. A. The country’s internet has been cut by the regime because of the peoples protests and B. The Girls are removing their hijab.. as well as there is a curse word in the song. Bless them in their shout for equality and liberation.
There have been innumerable young Girls and Women that have been detained, poisoned, assaulted, tortured, sentenced, had their Internet eliminated by the regime that essentially imprisons them within their country, or murdered by their oppressive government for speaking out against their suppression. IE the group of youths detained last year for posting a defiant tiktok dance video. It was their protest.
Legitimate human rights protests, fundamental rights, and self expression is what social media would be well served to function as. Power to the people. ✊🏼
