Labyrinth: Moral Of The Story

I’ve written on this film several times over the years. Before my time but one of those films Millennial’s or Gen Zer’s are shown by older siblings. Lol Albeit a kitschy sort of film it does have strong moral points.

Number one: Don’t have a victim mentality and need saving because it will attract the wrong kind of people. Instead of an ally (such as she discovers later with her ally’s and friends) you’ll get a Jareth type. You go crying a “Someone take me away from this awful place” too much, being too naive, too trusting you will attract exactly what that sentiment pulls aka those without the best of intentions. It’s a “What kind of help are you looking for” often where there’s a trade off. Usually compromising.

Number 2: of course it’s an allegory of be careful what you wish for. You may just get it and the reality that comes with it.

Number 3: Don’t forgo what you want out of life and dreamed of for momentary gratification of some sort. Which is often what those unscrupulous types want to distract and pull you away from because they get off on controlling and destroying people.

Number 4: Don’t cry how “unfair” life is that’s immature, inexperienced in life, and honestly stupid. Life ain’t fair and nobody owes you anything in life. Don’t be so presumptuous to believe or think otherwise. No one is that important nor significant for anyone to owe anything. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Number 5: Don’t let nobody play or mess with you. You always have the power to walk away… or in some cases run like hell away.

Moral points aside the soundtrack was ingenious and great.
