Libera

VICE News

The reality of the Liberian plight. Explicit material entailed because that has been the reality. I am certainly glad they unveiled the numerous issues of not only extreme poverty of the people but the sexual violence against women that roughly 75% of Girls and Women have been raped, prostitution due to poverty, corruption of systems that are supposed to assist the people, the sexual violence of UN Peace Keepers against Children and Women, the extreme violence, drug addictions, Child soldiers, and so on. It is so much more than about cannibal warlords, the larger picture is pervasive human rights abuses not to mention total violations of the most fundamental aspects of human rights by a World who virtually ignores the people. To the bleak waste land of the darkest part of the Liberian story there is by the grace of God a beacon of hope of redemption as you will see via the conversion of a former warlord who has turned his life around.
