Lord of the rings will have it’s 20th anniversary this year to major film release by Director ,Peter Jackson, and facilitated by New Line Cinema. The publication themselves came about in the 1950’s. I’ve written on the works before over the years. The Tolkien works were the pretty stark good vs evil story obviously. The Black Riders being symbolic of the obvious darkness and wickedness of the corruptible hearts of humans. Their characters as the hero character , Strider, was quoted as stating,

“They were once Men. Great Kings of Men. Then Sauron the Deceiver gave to them nine Rings of Power. Blinded by their greed, they took them without question, one by one falling to darkness. Now they are slaves to his will. They are the Nazgûl, Ringwraiths, neither living nor dead. At all times they feel the presence of the Ring, drawn to the power of the One. They will never stop hunting you.”

Sauron being a parallel to Satan, the controller and orchestrater of power hungry driven evil. In the stories once Frodo puts on the ring he is in the world of Sauron and the Ringwraiths aka a parallel of what a profound preacher by the name of Jentzen Franklin once stated during a sermon on God’s protection, “Once you step into the realm of evil and darkness as a child of God (born again) God can’t protect you.” Of course the orcs in all their fugliness could be paralleled to demons.

And ,Aragorn (Strider), is a heroic ranger figure that does not recognize his rightful place he rather he seems to shy away from it. Character’s such as ,Arwen, not only represent powerful Women characters but also fearless IE when she said, “I do not fear them (The Ringwraiths.)”

And but of course ,Eowyn, in Return of The King with her character’s famous line, “I am no man.”

Of course there is Frodo and his fellow hobbit support system. Frodo has to be the ring bearer because any Man or any other species that touches it is either tempted or becomes entirely corrupt. It causes nothing but contention and chaos. He is the chosen one in the story if you will. It is a burden he has to carry on his own and make the choice to destroy the evil it holds. As Aragorn stated in the works “You can not wield it no one can.”

The Balrog of course is metaphorical evil that no one but God can handle as Gandalf’s character stated, “This foe is beyond any of you.”

Of course Gandolf’s character has been the metaphorical comparison of Jesus as where Saramon an evil deceived follower who sadly thinks Sauron shares power when like spiritual evil never does, it has only one function to destroy. In the The 2 Towers there was believed to be comparison to the tyranny of WWII. Then there is ,Gollum’s, character whom is often believed to signify when depravity totally takes over a being’s life.. and honestly I’ve dealt with beings that reminded me of the character ,Gollum, once depravity, addiction, and or just evil took over their existences. Usually their mental capacity went to looking like one flew over the cuckoos nest to be frank about it.

On a lighter note the memes that came out of this movie as the internet being the internet has to warp everything. LOL
