#MyFreedomDay

What Freedom is to me in collaboration with CNN Freedom Project. CNN

What freedom means to me is not only freedom of speech as a whole but also as a survivor leader speaking up about the 1 in 3 of us Indigenous Girls, Women, countless youths of any gender who are preyed upon by sexual violence, sex trafficking, physical violence, stalking, murder, and or brutality in general — operated in total impunity. That we are 10 times higher than the national average to have any or all of these Human Rights atrocities committed against us. Statistics in Canada have shown as high as 75% of all sex trafficking survivors are of Aboriginal descent despite the fact only roughly 1–2 Million make up the Canadian population. For America there exists little to no data available for the vast number of us who are missing, sex trafficked, raped, inflicted with violence and or murdered. The data that does exist shows we have by far the highest rates of all of the above.
