“I have been witness to the magnificent heroic fighting of Jewish Men in Battle.” Mordechai Anielewicz

During Passover we must always commemorate these courageous typically young people. The bravado and tenacity they conveyed was the tenacity legends are made of. They really don’t receive the recognition they deserve. They are deserving of everyone’s respect. Without their resistance Jewish, Romani, and anyone else affected by the ghastly horrors of Hitler wouldn't be able to celebrate Passover every year or to even live. We would likely be dead or shrouded for fear of our lives. The sacrifice of these young people was and is something to admire to say the least. The resistance liberated death camps, smuggled people to safety, made the Nazi’s lives miserable, blew up transports, train tracks, ran underground operations, and even held off the world’s most bestial army of the time from territories and many of them again just kids. All while well aware what they were doing was a suicide operation as many of the resistance did not survive. There were uprisings within the Death and Concentration camps, the ghetto, the forest, and more.

It is the same spirit that the Ukrainian people are conveying in the manner they are fighting for their own Country at this very moment. May God bless them and keep them in their pursuit for a free nation. May they never surrender and always fight for their homeland until Russia ceases their invasion.
