Romani Sinti Pride Is Alive

Upon receiving the responses from young person after young person on International Romani Day many based in Europe of “I am Roma as well” or “San Rom?” Is a beauteous thing. It shows indeed the bleak history Romani people have suffered, certainly Hitler who murdered over 85% of European Romani people, the Kripo, and even still current ongoing oppression did not and has not won. That is a promising sign that we much like Indigenous peoples we are not afraid. It is a reminder how far we have come and have yet to go further for a more equitable just world.
