Soft Jargon

“I don’t like language that hides the truth.” George Carlin

Entirely true. It’s even worse now than 30 years ago when this special aired. That’s why we have a whole society who can’t handle life in general, has no respect for other people, takes nothing into consideration about others, cares nothing about other people unless it’s something meaninglessly stupid or to show off, and or yet are offended by everything. That is why we have jokers protesting the lockdown comparing it to Nazi Germany… a ghastly event in history that millions of people were murdered in based solely on who they were. Life is not soft life is hard.. well for some more than others. If life is never hard you’ll never grow up and all remain in coddled infancy throughout the entirety of it. One of the most poignant facts he made was about those with PTSD “I bet you if we’d still been calling it ‘shell shock’ some of those Vietnam veterans would have gotten the attention they needed at the time.”

Personally I believe for any survivor of any type of violence who has shell shock, I think the original term calls attention to the damage done to survivors perfectly. I really don’t like the term “Post Traumatic Stress Disorder” because when survivors of violence be it literal war, sexual violence, physical violence, psychological, financial so on so forth speak on our life experiences there’s no doubt that is what it is. The infringing upon the most basic of human rights were like dropping a bomb into our lives and demolishing everything in its wake. It’s a shame he died, it would’ve been very interesting to hear what he would’ve had to say about what’s going on in the world today especially in America.
