Soul Musicá

Listening to classic Soul and R&B such as Marvin Gaye, Al Green, Earth Wind & Fire, Ohio Players, all those and you realize how crappy mainstream music is. These people were real vocalists, lyricists, and musicians not some gimmicks. It’s unfortunate you don’t hear that in the mainstream anymore. I joked with some musical and performance professionals earlier that for me to even consider going into that field they’d have to totally clean house because I couldn’t be in the same room with that crap seriously. With the exception of maybe 1 or 2 at most. Like I’ve said there’s several reasons I remain in theater and indie fields, That’s where the talent is honestly and it’s a shame. 🤷🏽‍♀️ The mainstream field ought to be at a high bar place where it is a “You are so great that everyone has to hear you and see you” as musician Morris Hayes once said. It’s a shame what music has been deduced to.
