Stan

I didn’t realize that the Eminem song ,Stan, was what sparked the now known term “Stan” as expanded on in the video by HipHopBeatDaily. But Eminem being the trailblazer he is and was artistically it’s not surprising. He was quite a controversial figure in music and is a real one. That was the difference between him and his contemporaries and many people demonized him for it then now they’re more along the lines of “Can we return to that era? He was right and authentic about a lot of things” but unlike many of those also in the field he was who he was. He wasn’t drama related or air related his music just spoke for itself. For the time of late 90’s early 2000’s he was shocking but made valid points at the same time. He didn’t try to be anyone else or get anyone to like him he just was. What are legendary artists but great storytellers? The superficial stuff comes and goes but the artists everyone knows their music and will in years to come has depth. Kids who weren’t even alive then know his music as any actual artist. It wouldn’t surprise me if he is inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of fame here in a few years. The point of the song was NOT to be a Stan. I spoke on this years ago there is a rule of thumb of 3. Make contact once to an actual public figure no reply that’s a hint 2 more times with still no reply leave it alone. In the 2020’s world I would say even less than that because you can catch a case for harassment. The term “fan” is short for fan-atic, if you know what a fan-atic is you wouldn’t want to be a fan. I don’t believe in fan-ticism never have. You can admire others works, what they stand for (no pun intended), etc but to begin taking it as your actuality when it’s not let alone getting into the subliminal thing that’s when things go into extremely unhealthy territory. It’s unhealthy because wires get crossed, individuals think others are saying something they’re not, etc. I love authentic raw real music and the arts always have, always saw myself being an artist to some capacity as kid but I would never be so presumptuous to think or believe what major league people say or write has anything to do with me. That’s lo lo mentality. It’s like I’ve always said unless you’re contacting me directly or say something to me directly I don’t take anything as being more than a brush if at all when applicable. You can’t because that’s not reality.

Keep in mind they live in a whole other world they often are not that deep nor that in tune to what’s going on with other people they really live in their own world most of them. I like anyone who hasn’t lived under a rock seen fan-atics attempt to make them more than they are as people and have more meaning than do you can’t because again most of them now especially ain’t that deep anyhow to be blunt it’s pretty common knowledge they’re incredibly self absorbed and or egotistical even. They’re about the fame and money not artistic merit the majority of them. 🤷🏽‍♀️
