There is a slight implication of it by the abductor but that is it.
There is violence of a child being physically abused by a drunken parent and physical assault by other children upon the main character. The story is reminiscent of “IT.” The premise of the story is about standing on your own. IE The main character is bullied in school and life by an abusive parent prior to his abduction.
The part of after the psycho kidnapped the main character the whole “I’m not going to hurt you” bit.. says a psycho in a devil mask.. that newly kidnapped and threw the kids in a van. Oh yeah in reality anyone would trust that lol but that too dissimilar from what real life psycho’s are cognitively speaking. They do psychoness then often will profess in some form or another “I’m harmless” when the evident is obvious. Having seen it there is similar to “IT” an empowerment portion that speaks to over comers of those forms of crimes there is a point you have to stand up on own and on own 2 feet. No one else can do it for anyone especially in those over comer situations.
“Today’s the day you stop taking punches.”
