The Pianist

The 2002 Biopic is about the true life story of the late Pianist and Holocaust survivor Władysław Szpilman. He was an accomplished pianist and also famed autobiographer of the memoir The Pianist: The Extraordinary True Story of One Man’s Survival in Warsaw. His life was ultimately spared by a German Captain that had a spark of humanity in him of all the places assistance could stem from. Quite a remarkable life. God bless his late soul and really the soul of the Captain. God must have really spoken to him. The beauty of being human.

It is a difficult film to watch but it is what occurred. It is the story of the human spirit in the face of impossible odds. He went forward to continue to be a pianist and to retail his astonishing chronicle post Holocaust. Furthermore a reminder of this time of year to honor the living survivors of the Holocaust, their descendants, the Jewish Diaspora, and all groups of subjugated peoples throughout the world both since and through present.
