Values
I’ve spoken with people before that it is not unheard of for predominate culture to not have the same comprehension Indigenous peoples culturally have towards our peoples, 4 Legged’s, the Earth, etc because most if not all Indigenous people held the values that all things were and are sacred. Being non Indigenous predominate culture hasn’t had the level of suffering we have that is a reality and systemic and systematic facts. Our traditional values are next to nothing like predominate cultures or ideals. In fact there is a specific Lakota prayer when an animal passes on especially if it was something vehicle or hunting related that animal was violently killed therefore it is a prayer that untethers the soul. The truth is 4 leggeds were placed on this earth for God, The Great Spirit, Wakatanka, however any Indigenous peoples refer to him for us to look after them like we would our own. It is our duty really. It is part of our moral DNA code.
