Welcome To The Jungle

The legendary group Guns & Roses composed the famous song “Welcome To The Jungle.” It was said the song was speaking on Hollywood and celebrity culture. It was also said to have it’s roots in what is known as “The Jungle” in Los Angeles, an area by the name of Baldwin Village. The area particularly in the 1990’s was known for it’s gang and narcotics ridden activities- in other words pretty seedy and violent. Aside from that the song was pretty accurate about the atmosphere of celebrity, “making it”, the hierarchy of that realm and so. It is a metaphorical viper pit and a great deal like the jungle the group described. Every person for themselves, can’t stand anyone they see as competition, seedy, and biting world. Honestly it’s even worse now than it’s ever been. In that world what many in the public don’t understand because they’re frequently so mesmerized by the media image — they aren’t anyone’s friend not really at most they have frienemies other than that not reputably. That’s why if you notice you don’t see more than a handful of people famous anymore and it really does seem like everyone else gets shut out or pushed out at some point. Unless you’re one of their seedy buddies they’re not even going to allow you in the door no matter how talented, deserving, or hard working someone is besides it’s really not worth it anyway because it’s all ridiculously dumb anymore. There was a famous actress that had more or less left the scene stating “Hollywood is like a cult.” It truly is if “they” like you for whatever reason they like you but if they don’t they’ll do anything in their capability to blacklist those they don’t like. That’s why whenever people like me have dealt with them I’m as standoffish if not chilly and strong as I am especially if they’re male and me being a Woman because you can’t deal with many of them like Susie cutesy. They’ll walk all over you for one for two they’re not always the best people with the best intentions in mind, as the world found out through movements such as Me Too and Times Up. There’s a lyric that speaks about

“You’re a very sexy Girl. You can taste the bright lights but you won’t get there for free.”

It has been said they were speaking on the casting couches, having sexual contact with those who promise wealth and fame to those who want the dream so badly but there is a price for it still. To be completely forthright about it rest assured 90% of the time if a male and sometimes even female from that world is even trying to engage you let alone track you down especially if you’re attractive they want some sort of pay off for the time and trouble typically sex, they don’t do something for nothing. Sorry that’s just a well documented fact of how that world operates.

Fiona Apple, shoutout to her critically acclaimed new album she just released by the by, a 19 year old Fiona Apple took on the industry particularly MTV in 1997 during a time MTV wheedled a great deal of power in the industry — by simply stating the truth about not losing yourself in media peddled imagery. Needless to say MTV being the petty establishment it was known for used that against her and essentially blacklisted her for years.

Let’s just say when legends such as David Bowie and Frank Zappa passed on there was not 1 tribute done for them because both of those artists had called the station out for their questionable and business practices. Now the industry has more to do with famous people rather than establishments, if they don’t like you for any reason that’s it and everyone else jumps on board with it. You’ll find a great deal of these people really can’t think for themselves or just don’t wish to. Again it really is like a cult and the best thing for artists that could happen is the whole Hollywood and Celebrity structure collapses — with the onset of Corona Virus Lockdowns it may be the beginning of the process. The structure really should be the original model of “You are so great that everyone has to hear or see you” not who knows who, who slept with who, gimmicks, popularity contests, or who paid who. That’s the truth of the matter.

As Fiona Apple stated in her speech “This world is bull__. You shouldn’t model your life after it.”
