An unfortunate story of how social media cancel culture targeted Steven Speilberg’s remake of West Side Story one of the most anticipated films for the last 2 years. For those in the arts field we recall when castings were held for it. I noticed the said allegations against the male protagonist came the day before the film was to debut, with the allegations came the subsequent drop of advertisements on major platforms that had steadily been streaming them as well as it goes without saying effecting everyone involved in the project as cancel culture types have a tendency to do. Cancelling a film is counter productive and pointless anyway, the reason for that is actors are paid when they’ve completed filming therefore cancelling a film doesn’t effect the pockets of an actor. Whether or not he had any kind of sexual relations with a 17-year-old isn’t the problem with cancel culture types, it’s the fact they take it out on everyone even acquainted in any way. The 100 million production cost was met with a 10 million dollar opening weekend and apparently steadily declining upon the allegations making it’s way to the media. Many cancel types don’t really care all that much they are honestly just bored, lonely, bitter, jokers that have nothing better to do with their lives. I feel for the youths who worked hard on that project. Hopefully the controversy won’t follow them throughout their careers as they were only in the film and had nothing to do with anything a said actor did or didn’t do because that isn’t right nor just.

Let this be a lesson never put yourself in that position whether knowingly or unknowingly. Time will tell whether these allegations are true or not but I have to say the timing is interesting and that is coming from a survivor of sexual violence that everyone knows the perp is an ancient psycho freak and it took forever years for people to take it seriously even with lawful records of it. I will say this, if the actor indeed did commit these acts he needs some sort of legal reprimand if he didn’t and these are just clout chasing females as there are a lot of them in and around the arts field then they need to face some sort of legal reprimand. There’s too much of that kind of foolishness from clout chasers and accusers that like to bring people down on one hand but on the other predator’s who are allowed to prey about in entire impunity.
