What Is Harassment and Stalking

Let’s look at the legal definitions

U.S. Department of State

It’s any acts, behaviors, contact, monitoring meant to cause annoyance, distress, or any type of unwanted attention by an individual or individuals. It is unlawful and can carry a prison sentence especially if there is intrusive acts such as email tampering and the tampering of other private information. That is stalking and doing so goes over into federal law because it’s a federal offense to hack into or tamper with emails belonging to someone else. Just as it’s a federal offense to hack into websites, computers, phones, or any other means of technology… obviously. Making repetitive unwanted contact especially if it has been made clear by that individual to cease doing so is the definition of harassment. Monitoring someone who has told you to stop directly also qualifies as stalking and harassment. It’s always important to keep reiterating repeatedly openly even “Stop”, “Leave me alone”, “Go away”, “Stop monitoring me”, “stop stalking me” “Stop harassing me” as directly as possible and of course block them as much as possible right away. That is a very important key to not only letting your perpetrator know to stop but to allow others to know you have made that clear as well so if they tried to turn around and make false claims (which many stalkers/harassers do) you have it in repeated black & white that you indeed are the victimized not them. Thus far I have 2 both I’m pretty sure are acquainted with each other. The first one has been going on for a decade by a serial insidious predator that as said many times has been court and law documented. Like my serial predatory driven stalker it appears they seek to isolate me and do not want any Men around me or seemingly around me at all. It usually ups right before a professional event or anything having to do with career endeavors just like my serial stalker so therefore it wouldn’t shock me at all if that is where they came from as this has happened fairly akin before however not this directly heinous and with intent to cause harm as shown from the beginning of initial contact made by them. Law when contacted several times did not sound a bit surprised when the matter was reported because they’ve probably had problems with them before. Stalkers and harassers like any abuser usually have a history of doing so to others, you are not their first victim and unless they end probably won’t be their last. One of 2 things occurs when you cut off any means of contact and communication with a stalker/harasser. 1. They’ll get the hint finally and stop. Or 2. They go into a frenzy trying to gain contact or any acknowledgement they can obtain because no predator likes to be told no. 🤷🏽‍♀️
