I believe I had reposted this before but this time of year for American Indigenous Tribal people who do not celebrate Thanksgiving for obvious reasoning I felt it most important to do so.

Of course we as Indigenous people get bashed a great deal for everything, everything from the way we look and the variety that can bring because let’s be honest we’re all mixed with something or multiple peoples, how we live, where we live, what we eat, if we’re “disenfranchised”, if we’re not disenfranchised enough, how we dress, talk, walk, who we are, our practices, our pride if we’re a little too “prideful” well yeah we have to be when we’ve been slapped and kicked for over 500 years to the point of decimation, whatever it seems like someone always has something to say when it comes to us. Brown lives and Black lives have a great deal in common we don’t get to live… we get to survive and exist as best we can. And of course any disrespect needs to be checked because that disrespect is never acceptable granted aside from all land belongs to Indigenous peoples originally, we were here first, therefore it takes some special kind of gonads to disrespect any of us at all- albeit Indigenous Women much like Black Women and Girls are the most disrespected people anywhere not just in America. This was a beautiful and powerful video by Now This.
