Why Restraining Orders Are Problematic

As composed by USA Today on the terribly tragic murder of Amie Harwick by an ex who had a restraining order placed on him. It’s another reminder by restraining orders can absolutely be problematic. Often times it not only enrages a stalker and or dual domestic violence abuser but often due to legal loopholes which can vary from state to state — protective orders can prove to be virtually useless. This is why serial stalking survivors like myself often do not seek restraining orders regardless of how direly the order maybe needed as I’ve described the human rights infringement of stalking to individuals it is like pressing a “Go” button on certain types of obvious predators. The truth is stalkers especially vengeful, rejected, and or predatory based ones need criminal charges pressed thus really need to be put away. This is not to mention in addition to every device and tactic they use to monitor prey denied from them. I would even say put in solitary indefinitely because there are predators that their mentality is at such a high level of criminality they can’t be around people for even a few minutes without preying upon or conning someone. Amie’s untimely passing is a resounding shout for justice, that policies and legislation must be made more effective and thus implemented to protect the preyed upon not in it’s passive essence cater to the perpetrators who commit not only these abuses against Women but truly so infringe upon the basic Human Rights of Women who are preyed upon by such perpetrators.
