The grace of having older siblings who drag you to movies before your time. lol Honestly it became one of my most liked films coming up still is. As adjacent to my last post I’ve written on the film a few times over the years. The story line of the 1988 Lucas Film such as with the story line of JRR Tolkien’s ,Lord of The Rings, is a pretty standard Good VS Evil with a Moses sort of theme except the baby is a Girl instead of Boy is sent down the river by a midwife to save the life of the ,Princess Elora. She is born baring a mark- in which the child would overthrow the evil witch Queen Bavmorda. Much like the story of Pharaoh and Moses in scripture Bavmorda has ordered every baby Girl in the kingdom to be searched and probably killed as well as all Human (called Daikini’s in the Kingdom) Mothers imprisoned. If found the Princess Elora in the story is to be murdered to prevent from the witch queen being ousted.

There is the the protagonist ,Willow, in which obviously the film is named from. He is Nelwyn (aka a little person in real life) and often underestimated and scoffed at. He of course is the main hero in the film.

He comes across ,Madmardigan , a rebellious mercenary who becomes his friend and ally.

A couple of Brownies who assist him along the way, and of course a counter of Bavmorda’s evil a white Sorceress a nemesis of Badmorva’s wickedness by the name of Raziel who of which has been cursed into a rodent form that only Willow can free her from.

As foreseen in the former post the Badmorva’s daughter ,Sorsha, becomes converted inamorata of ,Madmardigan, after he was smacked in the face with their irritated Brownie friends with a love powder thus initiating it.

Throughout the film there are humorous moments.

In the end much such as with ,Lord of The Rings, the evil Bavmorda is defeated by Willow himself while the evil Queen is in the midst of performing a black magic ceremony to destroy the child after Willow, Sorsha, and Raziel intrude but only Willow could end the reign of the rancid queen.

Thus a Happy Ending goodness wins.
